Two slots - you know when!
It's a lovely, friendly space, enclosed [so no listening to the city outside!] with a relaxed atmosphere [much like the cube]
The stage area is probably a little smaller than the cube stage, so not bad. It's actually designated floor area, as opposed to a raised stage. There are two seating spots either side of the stage, ideal for those who like to sit down and play. Here's a badly cobbled together pic to give you an idea...
I figure we can set up like normal, no mics on the drums, save a kick drum mic, no mics on the guitar amps, pump the usual suspects through the mixer and rock
Health and Safety dictates that only 50 people can be in the space at a time, so the more performers there are the fewer people there can be in the audience
My wife, Sally, can video us if I give her one of our two allocated reserve voucher tickets. Perhaps we should get someone else to video us too, using the other one? Alexandra's sister has offered, which I guess takes care of saturday's two passes ...?

There are too many of us to squeeze in both slots, so I've split us into two groups of 12. This inevitably means some people only get to play one slot, so I've concentrated on evening out the sound, splitting guitars, bass, sax, etc and keeping as many possible vocalists on hand. Sorry if this is a bit disappointing, but it can't really be helped and it will improve the sound on both nights. We're playing to an audience, not ourselves, and they deserve us sounding our best : ]

The Sanctum sound guys have our tech spec. Guitars, drums and keyboards will be going straight into the PA via DI boxes and mics. Vocals and other instrument mics (sax, clarinet, trumpet, melodica, etc) will be routed through our cube mixer, like normal. I hope to set it up before we get going. I'd like those setting up their own mics and stands, clips mics and the like, to set them up at their chosen spot and wait for me to signal to them to come over and hand me their cable. This is to avoid confusion (mine) and simplify the process (for me!). I think it would be good for members to 'introduce' themselves a bit at a time, rather than all muck in at the beginning. Just a thought ... Listen out for each other and give ourselves space appropriate to the space we inhabit ...
Here are a couple of sketched out plans, if you can make head or tail of them! (Click on the image for a bigger version)
