Rebecca graced us with a visit after a long absence and took straight to the piano, which I mic'd up quickly. The recordings had been coming out a bit quiet, so I tweaked the settings and ended up with some distortion during the louder moments, most audible on 'Adieu', so I had to be careful exporting the tracks. I'm a louder drummer than the others and couldn't see the peak signals on the recorder while playing. Perfection is so elusive. We were short on XLR leads so J plugged his Volca Bass gizmo into a combo amp, which crackles nicely at the end of tracks. We all moved around, due in part to not having a drummer, which we took turns at. At one point I watched Jean-Michel go up to our recording mic and play electric guitar acoustically during a quiet moment. He then went on to quote Arthur Rimbaud ...
